My first look at Amie's invisible friends. Amie says it's important to note that Spud is a girl and that they are "sweeties" (her word for unmarried lovers). I asked her to tell me more about them, since I couldn't hear them talk. "Well, they're just imaginary, so I hafta make up things for them to say."
Happy birthday, Amie! She first wanted a Pinkie Pie cake, but changed her mind and wanted a 1980's Truly instead. Lucky thing I still have my original 80's pan! And it's my first time using fondant! I'm a bit addicted to Ace of Cakes. I don't care much for how my lettering turned out, but I love working with Wilson's ready-made fondant and will totally use it all the time now. :) Okay, back to the party.
Twelfth Annual Birthday Week begins today! Happy birthday, love. :-)
Amie was none-too-happy about Jason's birthday, but that's mostly our
fault. We were joking the other day about how Wednesday Jason would
become OLD. (All tongue-in-cheek, of course, because I'm turning 30
this "week", too!)
Amie suggested with a huge grin that he'd become really, really, REALLY big! And this spawned a good few minutes of Jason & I laughing about GIANT DAD and stomping around the kitchen. ("You better watch out, you better not cry, [etc.]...GIANT DAD IS STOMPING TO TOWN....")
That night, Amie got out of bed about a half hour after we'd placed her there, nearly in tears, hovering in the hallway. "Daddy, I don't want your birthday to come."
It took a few seconds for us to figure it out. "Are you afraid Daddy's going to turn into a giant?" She collapsed in sobs and could only nod her head in response.
Poor kid. :-)
